Terms of use & disclaimer

Last updated 29 June 2026

These terms govern your use of the VPP Compare AU website ("the site"). By accessing or using the site, you agree to them. They include the disclaimer and comparison disclosure below. We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date shows the current version, and continued use means you accept any changes. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. General information only — no advice

Everything on this site is general information for Australian homeowners. It is not financial, energy, legal or personal advice and doesn't account for your objectives, situation or needs.

Always confirm details with the official provider and consider your own circumstances — or seek licensed advice — before making a decision.

2. What we compare — and what we don't

To be clear about scope (as good comparison practice and the ACCC's comparator-website guidance recommend):

  • We cover residential Virtual Power Plants in Australia that publish verifiable details. We are not a whole-of-market comparison and don't include every VPP, retailer, battery or energy plan available.
  • We compare VPP reward terms and battery compatibility — not your full electricity bill. Underlying rates (supply charge, usage, feed-in) vary by network and plan; compare those independently with the government's Energy Made Easy (or Victorian Energy Compare).
  • We do not rank providers or name a "best" VPP. Any ordering is by category or state, not merit, and is not a recommendation.
  • Savings, payments and rebate figures are indicative examples, not quotes or guarantees. Your actual result depends on your battery, usage, tariff, location and the provider's current terms.

3. Our independence

VPP Compare AU is funded by display advertising only. We have no commercial relationship with any VPP operator, energy retailer or battery manufacturer — we are not paid by them, we take no affiliate commissions, and we run no sponsored content. Advertising is clearly labelled and does not influence our data, wording, or the order in which providers appear.

4. Accuracy & currency of information

We work hard to be accurate — every "connected" claim is traced to an operator's or manufacturer's own page, as described in how we verify. However, VPP terms, compatibility lists, rebate rates and rules change frequently, sometimes between our checks. We can't guarantee the information is complete, current or error-free. The official source we link to always prevails — confirm the current position there before acting. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.

5. Using the site

You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • use the site unlawfully, or in a way that damages, disables or impairs it;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems;
  • scrape, harvest, republish or commercially exploit our content or data without our written permission;
  • misuse the contact form (for example to send spam, malware or unlawful content).

6. Intellectual property & trademarks

The site's design, text, layout, diagrams and original content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright. You may view and link to our pages and quote short extracts with attribution, but not copy substantial parts without permission. Third-party brand names and logos are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the relevant product or provider; their use does not imply affiliation or endorsement.

7. Third-party links & availability

The site links to official operator, manufacturer and government websites for verification. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, products, services or privacy practices — a link is not an endorsement. We provide the site "as is" and "as available"; we don't warrant it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or remove content at any time.

8. Limitation of liability & the Australian Consumer Law

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage (including indirect or consequential loss) arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its information.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited but not excluded, it is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the relevant information or the reasonable cost of doing so.

9. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our privacy & cookie policy, which forms part of these terms.

10. Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state. Questions? Use our contact form. This page is general information about our terms, not legal advice.
